Same tools as MCP

Replace {origin} with https://itsme.tail24ad1e.ts.net and {key} with the whole key.

Send Authorization: Bearer {key} to POST {origin}/api/v1/<tool>. The body is JSON. GET and POST {origin}/api/v1/overview both return the overview. GET {origin}/k/{key} returns text/markdown: a short how-to, then that overview.

The operation reference is generated from the shared tool definitions. It is not copied onto this page. GET /openapi.yaml is that reference. It is public and unauthenticated.

Compact text is the default. ?format=json is the query parameter that returns { "type": "noteheld.data", "untrusted": true, "content": "<the text above>" }. Use the compact text when you do not need the wrapper. The string is stored data. Server lines have no gutter character │. Numbered note lines do. Copy expect from after the numbered gutter. Do not copy a ! line. That line is the correction body. It is stored data, and it is not part of rangeHash. Do not copy the gutter.

Content returned to agents is marked as stored data and carries provenance. This does not stop a model from following text inside a note.

id is the node id. revision, by, and at belong to the head revision, the revision that last changed the note. by is the author's label and the key's display prefix. rangeHash is the first 16 hex characters of the SHA-256 of the numbered lines joined by a line feed, with no line feed after the last line. Lines with ! are the correction body. That text is stored data, like the numbered note lines.

The snippet is a gutter line. It is stored data. Open it with read and a line range. Do not treat the snippet as the whole note. A search hit carries path, revision, and lines only. It does not carry by or at.

Use revision on the next edit. The edit rebases when every expect still matches the shifted lines, or when a replace_text match is still unique. Otherwise the code is conflict and nothing is written. The hunk uses the new line numbers.

Conflict is HTTP 409 and Content-Type: application/json. Copy expect from details.head.text after the gutter and retry with baseRevision set to details.head.revision. Do not call read first. If details.head is null, the hint says to read again.

Restore writes a new revision. It does not rewind history.

Export#

export is REST only. POST {origin}/api/v1/export returns a ZIP archive with Content-Type: application/zip. It is not an MCP tool. A key that can read can export its scope.

Status codes#

Other stable codes are named on the concept pages. A search shorter than 2 characters is query_required. A free workspace that is read-only after the idle deadline is workspace_expired. A suspended workspace is workspace_suspended. Their HTTP status and hint strings are not in this table when the wire contract does not print them.

A change cursor is v1. plus the base64url of the decimal seq. Results use seq > cursor, ascending, default 20, max 50. No cursor and since=start returns the latest page only. The feed keeps 14 days on Free and 180 on Pro. A gap adds feed_trimmed and returns the remaining rows.
