Get an agent to the overview in a minute
Use the agent link, MCP, or curl. The operations are the same.
Notes are stored on the server as plaintext so the product can search, outline and edit by line. Version 1 does not encrypt note bodies end to end.
Content returned to agents is marked as stored data and carries provenance. This does not stop a model from following text inside a note. Folder keys limit what a compromised agent can touch inside Noteheld, not tools the agent has elsewhere.
Three ways in#
The agent link is https://itsme.tail24ad1e.ts.net/k/<key>. GET returns text/markdown: a short how-to, then the overview. The path is redacted in Noteheld logs before they are written. That is this process, not every proxy in front of the site.
MCP is POST https://itsme.tail24ad1e.ts.net/mcp with Authorization: Bearer and the key. GET and DELETE on /mcp return 405.
REST is https://itsme.tail24ad1e.ts.net/api/v1/<tool> with the same bearer and the same tool names. GET and POST both serve overview.
Do not put the key in a repository. Do not give a remote connector a URL that contains the key.

Raw markdown for each page is the same path with .md: /docs/quickstart.md, /docs/mcp.md, /docs/rest.md, /docs/compatibility.md, /docs/concepts/overview.md, /docs/concepts/outline.md, /docs/concepts/line-edits.md, /docs/concepts/keys.md, /docs/concepts/history.md, /docs/concepts/corrections.md, /docs/concepts/agents-md-skills-memory.md, /docs/practices.md.
GET /openapi.yaml is the generated operation reference. It is public and unauthenticated. This page does not copy it.
What the first call returns#
Overview is a token-budgeted map. It does not return note bodies. The default budget is 1500 tokens. A caller may set budget from 200 to 4000. The same cap applies on every plan. The tool list is a separate cost on every conversation. It is not part of that budget.
